I  recently showed you a preview of the latest collaboration between Sebago and French design agency La MJC, The Fairhaven, and now I can show you a more detailed view.
The Fairhaven was originally released in 1980 and La MJC’s treatment sees them add contrasting black panels with white stitching and a white leather heel tab to the chunky boot like shape that offers a more robust and urban look.
 Founded in 2001 by Michael Dupouy and Julien Cahn La MJC was one of the first marketing and communications agencies in Europe to specialise in urban youth culture and using the internet to help brand interact with their audience, they have worked with everyone from Colette and Stussy to Nokia and Coca Cola.

Peep the look at the collaboration between Sebago and  LaMJC. They chose to work on the iconic “Fairhaven” shoe. The french agency who made a big splash with their Sebago deck shoes last year, have this time kept things more monotone, utilizing a mix of black leather and suede to bring the shoe into today. Stay tuned for more details.

LEICA M7 EDITION HERMES CAMERA

 Leica has introduced a "very special limited edition" (read: very expensive) version of its classic 35mm rangefinder system camera the M7 with the launch of the new Leica M7 Edition "Hermes".

Just 100 of each colour will be made available, and each individual camera will have a special sequential serial number between 001/200 and 200/200.

The Leica M7 Edition "Hermes" set includes a Leica SUMMILUX-M 35 mm f/1.4 ASPH. wide-angle lens, a matching classic round lens hood, a LEICAVIT M rapid winder and a real leather carrying strap matched to the colour of the camera, all delivered in a linen-covered, silk-lined box.

The Lecia M7 Edition "Hermes" will be available in the UK from December from authorised Leica dealers and the Leica Store Mayfair for an eye-watering £8550.

The weekly program will profile the beatsmith as he ventures into new projects with notable artists such as Jay Electronica, Curren$y, Mos Def and emerging rock group Voodoo Farm.

With the communal aspect of Dame Dash’s DD172 space new media is created on a daily basis. In an organic space where creativity and camaraderie come together recorded works of art become the byproduct. Produced, recorded and filmed at Ski’s in-house studio at the DD172 space, This visual representation of organic collaboration is a snippet of a new song by Ski feat. Mos Def, “Taxi” off of an upcoming Ski full length project. More content will be available as CreativeControl.tv launches on Nov 27th.

NEW FOLK STORE

Folk has opened its second store in the Old Truman Brewery in the East end of London. Over two floors, the 1000 square foot store takes many of the design features from its flagship store on Lambs Conduit Street..   .

The 12 foot ceilings are used to their full benefit with one wall in the store having floor to ceiling storage for the shoe range with an old library style ladder providing access.

The use of an old gym horse for seating and display in the back of the store and colourful milk churns for seating give a nod to Folk’s tongue in cheek attitude.   Fold out benches on either side of the entrance complements the welcoming approach as does there being no counter to split the staff from the public with customers paying via handheld card machines.

In addition to its own collections the store will stock selected other brands including Humanoid, Sessun and Won Hundred for Women and Hill-side ties and Feiyue sneakers for men.

Bowers & Wilkins have launched their second iPod accessory after their iconic Zeppelin speakers. The new Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Mini iPod speakers uses the same award winning technology as the original Zeppelin speakers but has a much smaller form factor making it ideal for placing on desktops and bedside tables where space is limited. The Zeppelin Mini has a dock which can be adjusted for vertical or horizontal viewing. The speakers have a USB connection so can play music from a computer and come with a remote control.

Piper Heidsieck and Christian Louboutin have collaborated on a project named Le Rituel after a French ritual popular in the 1880’s where one would drink champagne from a woman’s shoe. The shoe is made of crystal glass and is designed to resemble one of Christian Louboutin’s shoes and features his signature laquerred red sole and a heel resembling the stem of a champagne flute. The shoe is accompanied by a bottle of Piper Heidsieck Brut and comes in a shoe box.
